ACT stands for American College Testing. It is an entrance exam used for College admissions in the United States of America. The four main segments of the test are English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Natural Sciences. The latter two segments have been reformed as a reading section under which there is social science subsection, and Natural Science is changed into a Science Reasoning test. The total exam time is three hours and fifty-five minutes. Subject-wise time allocation is Maths 60 minutes, English 45 minutes, reading 35 minutes and Science 35 minutes overall.  

What is the eligibility for the ACT? 

  1. The minimum age requirement to take the ACT is 13 years. 

  2. There are no particular criteria regarding scores and courses. 

  3. Those applying for ACT exams need an international debit or credit card to pay registration fees. 

  4. The applicant taking an ACT exam should have a valid passport. 

  5. There is no upper age limit for ACT exams, but those below 16 need to take Parents’ consent while creating an online account at My ACT through the official website. 

How to prepare for ACT exams? 

When you appear for ACT exams, consider these things: 

  • Register first and pick a location not very far away for ACT exams. 

  • Get used to question styles and formats. The questions asked will test different knowledge and skill areas. 

  • Know your weakness and work on them to convert them into strength 

  • Practice writing sessions for test 

  • Set a target score and test time and check how much you achieved within a period  

  • Make a study schedule  

  • Always work on your hardest and come to the easiest

While registering, you need to take your photo, which is of a recent one, request for accommodation or English learner supporter, choose a date two months ahead of the application deadlines, search for an ACT center near you, use the high school code while interacting with ACT, send copies of messages to Parent or guardian email address.

The ACT exam score range from 1 to 36.  The average ACT score by sections are:
