Language and religion
Singapore has four official languages such as Mandarin, Malay, Tamil and English. The most of Singaporans use the Singlish language which is a mix of English and other languages mixed into English. Main religions practiced by the citizens are Buddhism, Sinhalese, Burmese and Thai. They have temples, churches, mosques for religious worship of ethnic people from diverse backgrounds. The population of Buddhism is 31.1 percent, no religion 20 percent, Christianity 18.9 percent, Islam 15.6 percent, Taoism 8.8 percent, Hinduism five percent and other religions which are about 0.6 percentage. Small sects of religious groups are Jainism, Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Baha'is faith, Brahmakumaris, Eckankar, Falgun gong.
Singapore’s Government officially has a toleration of different religions and religious harmony. Only a few religions such as Jeohvas Witness, Unification Church are banned.
