Visa Application process and requirements
In order to apply to any school/university in Japan international students first have to apply for a student VISA in Japan. They will need the evidence of their credentials which will be:
- Filling in the school’s visa application, and personal history form.
- Application essay to inform why you want to study in Japan
- Diploma or transcript from the last school you have graduated
- Certificate of previous Japanese studies
- A copy of your passport
- Medical history
- Letter of Remittance
- A bank account balance certificate
- Proof of employment
- Written oath or pledge from your guarantor
- Get your CoE (Certificate of enrollment)
- Apply at the Japanese embassy of your country
- Your CoE
- Passport
- 2 photos
- A visa application form
(Requirements might vary from account to country)
- Fill in the required documents
After submitting these documents they will be verified and a decision about your studies at Japanese Universities/Colleges will be made and you will be notified whether you are eligible or not.
There is a student VISA for short-term courses which is up to 90 days. Another is for more than ninety days but less than twenty weeks. Finally, for long-term courses, it lasts from twenty weeks to two years.
