Education in South Korea

Education in South Korea is divided into six years of primary schooling, three years of middle school, and three years of high school. Post-secondary education is College and University education which are funded by the Government and some private sectors running under the Ministry of Education. POSTECH is a private research university that offers a science and technology-based curriculum to international students. It is the first South Korean university to be officially labeled a bilingual campus. 

POSTECH ranks 26th place in the Asian University Ranking, and 81st place in the QS World University Ranking. It offers graduate level programs taught in both Korean and English. 

POSTECH, located in Pohang, not only includes all the usual facilities like student accommodation, cafés and so on, but also special facilities like a digital library, and a sports multiplex.

Korea University 
Korea University is a private research institution that ranks 74th in the QS World Ranking and 11th in the Asian University Ranking. Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) 
Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) is a private institution that is ranked in 88th place in the global rankings and fourth in the South Korean ranking. It has two main campuses, a Humanities and Social Sciences campus in Seoul and a Natural Sciences Campus in Suwon. 

The university was founded six centuries ago in 1398 by the Joseon Dynasty. Today, it is one of the top universities that enrolls around 34,700 students each year. Yonsei University 
Yonsei University is a private university located in Seoul. It ranks in the 21st place in the Asian University Ranking. Yonsei University offers an extensive range of undergraduate programs in the English language. 

Depending on your department, you need to pay an application fee of 130 USD. Tuition fees for undergraduate degrees at Yonsei University begin at 3,100 USD for a year-long course in the humanities/social sciences and go up to 6,150 USD for engineering degrees in the School of Integrated Technology. Hanyang University 
Established in 1939 by Lyon-Joon Kim, Hanyang University is one of the most technically advanced colleges in South Korea. Hanyang University ranked in 96th place and entered the top 100 clubs for the first time in the QS World Graduate Employability Rankings 2022.

Established around 135 years ago, Ewha Woman's University aims to provide quality education to women. It ranks in 54th place in Asian University Ranking. Ewha Woman's University is one of the colleges that broke stereotypes, and social taboos and overcame challenges based on gender discrimination.

Sogang University 
Sogang University, located in Sinchon, was founded by the Society of Jesus. It aims to provide firsthand experience to international students through various student activities. 

The undergraduate program at Sogang University is a 4 years course. The programs are taught in both Korean and English. They have intakes for the spring semester and fall semester. The semesters are 16-weeks long and each semester begins in March and September. The undergraduate program includes 27 departments in 9 schools.
